Dr Louise M C Davies

Qualifications: MB BS The Medical College of St Bartholomew’s University of London 1985 Family Planning Certified

Dr Davies is senior partner and has been with the practice since 1994. She provides the whole range of general medical services including child health surveillance, contraception, maternity care, minor operations and terminal care. In addition she fits coils and inserts contraceptive implants.

Dr Davies has a special interest in asthma, hypertension and rheumatology, having been a clinical assistant under Dr Joshua Dixey, Consultant Rheumatologist at Princess Royal Hospital Telford. She is Vice Chair of the Rural Network Group, a working party of the West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group.

Dr Davies has taken on a role as Director of Integrated Care at the Countess of Chester Hospital where she will be working for one day a week.

Dr Richard Henney

Qualifications: MB ChB University of Liverpool 2001, MRCGP 2007

Dr Henney trained and worked in Liverpool and Merseyside for 10 years before working in South Manchester. He worked for a few years in surgery before moving to the field of General Practice and completed his membership of the Royal College of General Practice in 2007.

He is a Board Member of Cheshire Local Medical Committee and has recently become their Finance Director.

In medicine, his areas of special interest are very much evolving. At present he has a particular interest in minor surgery, urology and men’s health.

Dr Mark Edney

Qualifications: MB ChB (2002) MRCGP BSc (Pharmacology) Leeds

Dr Edney trained in Manchester and now lives in North Wales. He enjoys rowing on the River Dee as time and fitness allow.  He has additional responsibility as Clinical Governance Prescribing Lead.

He has a special interest in pharmacology and running the Practice Dispensary.

Dr Christine Snowden

Qualifications: MB ChB MRCP DFSRH MRCGP

Dr Snowden has been with the practice since November 2012. She provides the whole range of general medical services including child health surveillance, contraception, maternity care and end of life care. She has developed an interest in respiratory conditions.

Dr Emma Taylor

Qualifications: MB ChB DRCOG MRCGP DCCH DFSRH

Dr Taylor has been with the practice since 1999 and works as an Associate GP. She provides the whole range of general medical services including child health surveillance, cryotherapy, some minor surgery and terminal care. She has a special interest in women’s health, contraception and dermatology. Dr Taylor also works for the Out of Hours Service and as a GP Appraiser.

Dr James Davies

Qualifications: MA MB BChir (Cantab) MRCGP

Dr Davies is now entering his tenth year as a General Practitioner.  He joined the practice in 2017 as a Salaried GP and also works for the Out of Hours Service.  In the past, he has spent time as a Clinical Lead at the local Clinical Commissioning Group.

Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Laurel Bank Surgery in the last financial year was £52,817 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs, 1 full time non clinical partner and 3 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
